Making Intranet Presentations

Top  Previous  Next

Web sites are simply a folder of HTML (browser) files placed on the World Wide Web available for viewing by anyone with a web browser. If the same HTML files are placed on your local area network (LAN) they can still be accessed by the same browser you use for Internet access. A web site on a LAN is called an "intranet" site.  The same "Favorites" feature that allows you to store frequently used web sites can be used for both Internet and intranet web sites.

NFIRS 5 Alive has a feature that allows you to convert any number of Presentations into intranet web site pages ready for viewing by any computer on your LAN.  Simply highlight the Presentations you wish to organize into an Intranet site.  Decide what to call each page and decide which Presentations go on each page.  Then press a single button and your Intranet web site will be automatically created or updated with new Presentation information.

The list of Presentations you highlighted appears on the left side of the screen.  To place the Presentations on a web page simply drag the presentation over to the box on the right side of the screen. A single Intranet web folder can contain an unlimited number of intranet web sites. Each web site can contain a virtually unlimited number of web pages.

Once you have placed your Presentations on the web pages of your choice NFIRS 5 Alive will automatically create the web site.  Open the "Index.htm" page with a browser, mark the page as a "favorite" and you're done.

It's that easy!
